Packet Pickup Volunteers will staff the t-shirt, runner bib, and various other tables throughout the day before
the race during Packet Pickup. Volunteers are also needed to perform the same tasks before the race start on
race day. These positions will be staffed in one hour increments. Feel free to sign up for more than one hour
block, continuous or not, but please be available for the full time period for which you sign up.
One of the most important volunteer positions any race has. These individuals will be stationed on the course
throughout the race to help manage crowd and traffic control, but more importantly, keep our runners on course
and headed in the right direction. Marshals need to be available an hour before the race start and willing to
stay in position until the appointed time of course closure for his or her position. Having a fully staffed
Course Marshal team is vital to ensuring both runner safety as well as a good on-course experience.
Many high energy, friendly people are needed to staff our aid station/water stops. Arrival and departure times
will vary slightly, but volunteers need to be available from approximately one hour before the race start until
30 minutes after the course closure for that specific location. Groups of up to 15 are encouraged to sign up as
a team and represent their organization. This is a great opportunity for team building or just spending a fun
morning with your club or organization. If your group can completely staff a location, we encourage you to bring
posters, banners, signs, or whatever you want to represent your organization and show who you are. Small groups
and individual volunteers are also welcome will be grouped together as needed.
Ask any marathoner, and they will tell you the first thing they want after a race is a place to sit and something
to eat! Be the first smiling face to welcome our runners home after they cross the finish line. We will have
traditional post-race food and beverage and need several volunteers to keep this food stocked fresh on the tables
and attend to the runners. We will have two shifts, an early shift to take care of our 5k runners, Kids 2K,
and faster Half-Marathon finishers, and then a later shift for our remaining Half and Full Marathoners.
Start/Finish Line Setup
Pre-Race: Are you an early riser? This is the job for you! We need a few brave souls to come out in the very early
morning hours to assist in the setup of our fencing, sponsors signage, and start/finish lines. This is a unique
opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes and a vital position to ensure that everything looks top-notch for our runners.
Post Race: Not an early riser? Would you rather sleep in? We need volunteers who are willing to be flexible as the race festivities wrap up. Various jobs will include breaking down of fencing, removing and storing signage and banners, and loading supplies into appropriate locations.
Finish Line Medals
Be the very first to welcome our runners across the finish line and present them with their hard earned medals! Two
shifts will be needed to take care of our various races and finish times.
Volunteer Coordinator Assistants
These volunteers will directly assist the Volunteer Coordinator on both the Friday and Saturday of race weekend.
Individuals interested in this position will get a more behind-the-scenes look during race weekend. While the primary
duty of this position will be staffing the volunteer check-in table, individuals must be flexible and willing to
complete various tasks that may arise on short notice. Interested individuals should be able to work independently
as well as with a team, and be able to travel in the local area during the course of the weekend should the need arise.
We need a couple of assistants whose assignment will be to ensure runners have the correct shirts based on their event.
